About the Director

The President's Double marks the first time that Steve Bailey has directed a play he did not write. His previous productions include: his debut play (for the now-defunct Boomtown Theatre) Plan Nine from Outer Space: The Rip-Off (2005), a parody of the infamous sci-fi cult film; for ABET, The Fairly Big Broadcast of 1937 (2008), a take-off on Orson Welles' famed "Martian" radio broadcast; and his previous production for Neptune Beach Senior Activity Center, Testing: A Week in the Life of an Ex-Teacher (2009), an autobiographical comedy based on Bailey's experiences as a teacher and test-scorer.

Since 1997, Bailey has been a part-time movie reviewer for the Jacksonville Beach newspaper The Beaches Leader. He also heads the local chapter of The International Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society.
